INSPIRATION – ArtFoamies!
“if it doesn’t move – STAMP IT!”
ever heard of them?
if not, you are in for a treat! i have had more fun over the past few days with my Gelli Arts® gel printing plate and my ArtFoamies.
ArtFoamies stamps are durable, bold foam stamps designed for use on many surfaces. they can be used with acrylic paints, inks and glazes. for this project, i decided to stick with acrylic on my plate.
are you interested? check out this video tutorial. keep in mind that this is only part one. parts two and three will be on my youtube channel this weekend.
TECHNIQUE
after posting batch no. 25, another paper artist wrote a comment explaining that they were having trouble achieving the desired effects on their monoprints. i decided to take the opportunity to write a blog post and create cards using beautiful backgrounds. this is just another technique using the fun and versatile ArtFoamies!
[a few tips before we start – be sure to properly clean your ArtFoamies after each use. when i was practicing, i just left them out to dry. well, when you view the tutorial video, you will notice, in the beginning, that i am not getting very clear or noticeable impressions or stamps. after i cleaned the ArtFoamies, they worked like a dream.
another tip is to wipe the Foamie clean after each stamp. this will allow a more detailed impression/pull from the plate, as well as a better image when stamped. it really makes a huge difference, especially when using the larger ArtFoamies.]
so…
shout out to Art by Marlene – i just LOVE this rose and so many of her other designs!
this technique would be great for tags, prints, background, journals, art journaling… the possibilities are endless. check out more ArtFoamies here. and please share your results!

CREATION
in the end, i created twelve beautiful backgrounds. i found that it is easiest to work on 3-4 backgrounds at a time in order to utilize all your supplies and create multiple papers with a cohesive look. here are some examples of the other backgrounds:
