inspired by batch no. 2 • november 2016
watercolor + acrylic paint + stamp
with all the stories of hate and destruction here in the U.S., and around the world, i find the idea of “clarity, determination, and optimism” to be a joyful reprieve. sometimes, that is exactly what art should be for a person.
the original batch was inspired by an incredible exhibit at my neighborhood art museum – Lift: Contemporary Expressions of the African American Experience. unfortunately, the exhibit is no longer showing at the museum, but the message continues to inspire my art, as well as my teaching. be sure to check out batch no. 2 blog post to learn more about the artist that inspired this batch and continues to create spectacular art.
